Overall purpose of the role:


Barclays HR is embarking on an extensive, multi-year transformation programme, Pivot, which will deliver:

  1. Changes to technology and processes; facilitating a more intuitive, digitally-enabled experience, using easy-to-access, self-service tools, that create capacity to enable HR to focus on consultative and strategic client support

  2. Adapting our ways of working to show up for colleagues as one, united HR team and developing our skills as HR consultants, strategists and advisors

  3. Better connected data to provide insights supporting better decision making


For this programme, an experienced HR Data Integrations Project Manager is required to support a number of initiatives within the overall programme of work. You will be leading the integration between Workday and our Unified Engagement Layer built on ServiceNow and the migration of data interfaces for our system consumers, both internal and external as we move the data source from the current applications to our chosen SaaS  platform, Workday across multiple HR domains, including Talent Acquisition, Core Employee & Org Data, Talent, Performance, Learning, Compensation, Payroll and others. 


This is an exciting time to be joining HR as there will be significant opportunities to shape and refine the HR data model for Barclays throughout the design process.  

Key Accountabilities: 


  • Drive the engagement with HR Data consumers and coordination of Design, Build and Test of data interfaces from the target state architecture, leading to successful migration from current interfaces to the new and decommissioning of the legacy integrations. 

  • Work closely with the HR Integrations Architect, to understand the change impact for each of the HR Data Consumers and help them manage the remedial actions required at their end and the transition to the new interfaces.

  • Responsible for the legacy interface decommissioning of the key in-scope applications to the Strategic Archive

  • Work closely with the HR CDO and other relevant governance forums to ensure that GDPR and GDMS requirements are successfully met.

  • Ensuring the integration product design meets the Group Data Architecture Capabilities, including contribution in the evolutionary design together with the broader programme to ensure appropriate risk stories/design requirements are incorporated

  • Ensuring that data is protected including access management, obfuscation and encryption to the level required in each case, taking into account Regulatory and Legal requirements, in support with  the Data Access Mgmt & Security SME for HR.



Key Skills: 

  • Data integration experience in technology, preferably experience with HR data

  • E2E life cycle projects managing Data Integrations

  • Experience of developing and implementing strategic integration plans and 

  • Proven ability to manage both senior IT and programme stakeholders

  • Must have experience of transferring data at Volume…tens or hundreds of thousands of records

  • Able to quickly understand and interpret requirements into data definitions for the project programme, with experience in understanding where the relationships and complexities may occur. 

  • Able to manage multiple stakeholder requirements, translate new concepts to Barclays context and language and assist with the culture change associated with implementation of the new solution.

  • Able to undertake source to target mapping with support from system SMEs, ensuring consistency in language and approach and documentation. 

  • Creating enduring artefacts that last beyond the project implementation phase for reference.

  • Able to manage data integrations through different project phases and manage the implications on current applications/data stacks, ensuring that there is no degradation of service during the programme.  

  • Driven individual, accountable for the delivery of the data workstream in partnership with the Data Integration leads.
