Duration: 6 months

Overall Purpose of the Role

We are looking for experienced Business Analysts to join the Barclaycard Payments Transformation Programme. This multi-year initiative is carving out core parts of the payments business into a new legal entity, requiring regulatory licensing, new operational structures, and the creation of core finance and enterprise functions.

The role will focus on shaping and defining business requirements, building new operating models, and supporting the set-up of finance operations, processes, and controls within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements across finance and payments operations.

  • Support the set-up of enterprise functions including internal and external bank accounts, finance operations, and regulatory processes.

  • Design and validate Target Operating Models (TOM) for finance and operational controls.

  • Contribute to the regulatory license application process by defining requirements, controls, and operational readiness.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and efficiencies.

  • Support the design of responsibilities and operating models for finance operations teams (10+ FTE).

  • Collaborate with technology and operations teams to ensure requirements are translated into deliverables.

  • Provide clear documentation, gap analysis, and process mapping to support programme delivery.

Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services (ideally payments, finance, or card schemes).

  • Proven background in defining and delivering operating models, processes, and controls in a regulated environment.

  • Experience with finance operations (e.g., reconciliation, payroll, balance sheet, or accounts management).

  • Comfortable working on large-scale transformation and regulatory change programmes.

  • Strong stakeholder management, requirement gathering, and documentation skills.

  • Experience in automation or AI-driven process improvement would be highly advantageous.

  • Strong data and analytical skills with the ability to work across complex financial flows.
