Overall purpose of the role:

The area you will work in is capital reporting. We are looking to build up an assurance team. 

The primary purpose of this role is to help establish the assurance activities that need to be undertaken on Basel IV delivery for both our EBA and PRA entities. 

Working with key stakeholders across the bank, you will be required to have the correct technical interpretations provided by our policy contacts and ensure these are being implemented accordingly.

You will also be involved in re-performance testing on regulatory calculations and providing assurance on the outcomes provided by the first line production teams.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Co-ordinating the interpretations from Policy in a timely manner and ensuring SMEs have these in their implementation plans for deliveries. This will cover all risk types.

  • Help interpret calculation in the PRA CRR and EBA CRR3 and working with IT to help develop tools that will enable independent calculation testing. A good background in understanding the rules and applying these practically will be essential.

  • Fully understand the regulatory changes (CRR2, CRR3, COREP and Pillar 3 reporting requirements) from both a calculation and reporting perspective and ensure that our various stakeholders are regularly informed of these developments and our strategy to implement before go live.

  • Undertake assurance activities upon the build completions of the calculations and disclosures. Being confident in being able to review and challenge outcomes with good understanding of the rules and technical interpretations.


Key Skills: 

  • Experience in Basel Reporting or Capital Adequacy reporting 

  • Excellent experience in Risk-weighted assets / RWAs

  • Be adept with RWAs and the calculations

  • Must be able to demonstrate you have been involved in, and have a good understanding of, calculations and the rules behind it 

  • Experience of Capital Reporting and RWA at a Senior / Lead level

  • Ability to hit the ground running

  • Able to understand the rulebook (CRR) - Cash Reserve Ratio

  • Good seniority/experience and banking or consultancy experience


Ideal Experience:

The ideal candidate would have experience of: 

  • Capital reporting, RWAs and an Audit background

  • Otherwise be very adept with RWAs and the calculations

  • An audit/assurance background in the above would be really appealing
