Overall purpose of the role
Are you a highly skilled Quant Developer with a passion for driving critical risk model migrations? Do you excel in Python and possess a strong foundational knowledge of econometrics and time series analysis?
We are seeking an ambitious and technically proficient Credit Quant Developer to join a critical team within our Investment Banking division. This 6-month contract role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the stability and efficiency of our quantitative credit banking book models.
This role is focused on the risk side of quantitative finance (Market/Credit/Interest Rate Risk), moving away from pure desk quant/pricing models. You will be instrumental in a key project to migrate and translate existing model code, primarily from R to Python, ensuring new structures are logical, adaptable and easily maintained.
Key Accountabilities:
As a Credit Quant Developer, you will be responsible for:
Code Migration & Translation: Taking ownership of migrating and translating quantitative models, with a strong focus on transitioning code from R to Python
Logical Structuring: Designing and implementing robust, logical code structures that allow for quick adaptation to new business requests and model changes
Development & Problem Solving: Applying strong econometrics and development experience to address complexities encountered during migration, finding superior coding alternatives where direct translation is difficult
Collaboration: Working closely within the QA Credit Banking Book Team to deliver high-quality, fully documented and tested code
Key Skills:
Programming: Expertise in Python is essential. Experience with version control systems, especially GIT is required
Quantitative Finance: Strong Econometrics Knowledge is essential, including basic knowledge of linear regression, time series analysis and factor analysis
Industry Experience: Banking / Financial Services experience is essential. Previous exposure to a regulated banking environment is necessary
Mindset: Must be Critical and Analytical and comfortable providing critical review during model and code migration processes
R/R-Studio: Good familiarity or ability to understand R code is highly desirable for the migration task
C++: An understanding of C++ would be beneficial for potential collaborative tasks
Risk Domain Knowledge: Prior experience in Market, Credit or Interest Rate Risk is a bonus but not essential
Advanced Econometrics: Experience with econometrical capital, meta-models or correlation models is a plus
