Compliance Assurance

Location: Glasgow, UK

The Role

We are seeking a disciplined Compliance Assurance to join our Financial Crime team. This is a "hands-on" delivery role focused on the technical execution of our testing plan. You will be part of a collaborative team where you can sharpen your testing methodology while broadening your exposure across the Financial Crime spectrum.

Key Objectives & Outputs

As an AVP in this team, your focus is on the execution and delivery of the assurance plan rather than high-level strategy.

  • Core Delivery: Primarily provide robust AML assurance, ensuring our core anti-money laundering controls are functioning as intended.

  • Broadened Scope: Support thematic reviews and testing modules for Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) and Sanctions frameworks.

  • Testing Execution: Perform detailed Control Testing (verifying the design and operation of a control) and Outcome Testing (reviewing the end result to ensure it met regulatory requirements).

  • Team Collaboration: Work as a key contributor within a review team. While you will be responsible for the high-quality delivery of assigned testing workstreams and workpapers.

Working Background & Experience

We are looking for a candidate who understands the "mechanics" of testing.

  • Professional Background: You must have a solid foundation in Audit (Internal or External) or Compliance Assurance gained within a Bank or Financial Services firm.

  • Risk Knowledge: You need a solid basic understanding of Financial Crime risks. While we don't require you to be a "subject matter expert" (SME) on day one, you must understand the fundamentals of how risk manifests in a regulated environment.

  • Attention to Detail: Proven experience in documenting test results to an "audit-ready" standard.

Technical Skills Required
  • Experience in sample testing and evidence gathering.

  • Ability to follow a testing program and identify deviations from policy.

  • Strong written communication for drafting clear, evidence-based findings.
