Senior Financial Crime Quality Assurance Manager

Location: London

At Barclays, we are looking for a Vice President (VP) to join our Financial Crime Execution team. This isn’t your typical QA role; it’s a high-impact position where you will oversee the quality of our most complex work including Risk Assessment Units (RAU) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) while driving the strategic initiatives that keep our business safe and compliant.

The Role:

In this role, the balance is key. While you’ll still be "hands-on" when needed, your focus will be 70% Strategy and Oversight and 30% Execution. You will be the right-hand lead to the Head of Function, ensuring that projects and regulatory directives are delivered on time and to the highest standard.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Quality Oversight: Performing "4-eye" checks and QA on high-detail work produced by the RAU and EDD sub-teams.

  • Driving Initiatives: Taking the lead on critical projects resulting from S166 reviews, skilled person reviews, and other senior business directives.

  • Team Direction: Keeping the team on track as projects land "thick and fast," ensuring delivery remains seamless.

  • Senior Engagement: Facing off to senior leaders and forums, providing updates, and holding stakeholders to account when necessary.

Key Objectives

  • Ensuring the accuracy of SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports), Periodic Reviews, and Financial Crime Exits.

  • Translating regulatory requirements into actionable team plans.

  • Maintaining a high-detail, low-volume approach to QA that reflects the complexity of our international banking landscape.

What We’re Looking For

We value deep subject matter expertise. You might not have spent your whole career in a "QA" department, but you must fundamentally understand the how and why of Financial Crime.

Your Experience:

  • Deep FinCrime Expertise: Strong background in AML and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) is essential. You need to understand the nuances of what the RAU teams are doing.

  • International Banking: Ideally, you have experience navigating the complexities of Financial Crime within an international banking environment.

  • Regulatory Resilience: Experience working on projects triggered by S166 reviews or similar regulatory interventions is a huge plus.

  • QA Mindset: You should have a tangible understanding of Quality Assurance processes. Candidates with direct QA experience will be prioritized.

  • Policy Pro: You stay ahead of the curve on AML/KYC policies and shifting global regulations.

Diversity

Barclays aims to foster a culture where individuals of all backgrounds feel confident in bringing their whole selves to work, feel included and their talents are nurtured, empowering them to contribute fully to Barclays vision and goals.

Hybrid Working

Barclays is currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Barclays is flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. Barclays also has a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

Your Benefits

As a contract employee of Randstad Sourceright, you’ll receive a wide range of financial and personal benefits. There’s enrolment in a pension plan (after 12 weeks on assignment) and holiday pay. You’ll also get 24/7 access to an Employee Assistance Programme, designed to help you deal with any problems that could be affecting your home or work life. Plus, there’s discounts at heaps of high street shops, restaurants and entertainment - from Asda to Zizzi Italian restaurants.
