Remote role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach to hybrid working meaning that colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours).
For this specific role, the onsite working requirement is one day a week, which is a role-based exception due to the requirements of the role. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
About Compliance Services
The Compliance Services team is the appointed service provider to Barclays Legal Entities. In particular, Compliance Services is responsible for providing Compliance shared services and risk management capabilities across Barclays.

Overall purpose of role
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver management information (MI) and data insights in support of Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) across BUK and BBPLC. This will involve the role holder working and acting as a point of contact with Group Financial Crime Operations, Fraud and Risk functions, Legal, Transaction Monitoring and others; providing testing, advice and guidance in relation to SAR MI, insights and reporting.
Key Accountabilities
Analyse and interpret SARs data and MI to identify trends, develop actionable insights for risk owners and key stakeholders, and monitor the effectiveness of the control framework, escalating to oversight and Operational and Business Units to address actual and developing issues to Business
Prepare and deliver UK and Global SARs insight packs to Business Units within BUK and BBPLC
Liaise with Business Unit Financial Crime leads to better understand existing and emerging SARs risk
Provide data and analysis to support SARs Oversight governance submissions
Contribute to the enhancement of SARs MI across first and second lines of defence
Collaborate with risk owners and key stakeholders, including Group Financial Crime Operations, Business Oversight Compliance, UK Nominated Officer, Jurisdictional MLROs, BU Financial Crime Accountable Executives, Intelligence & Investigations Team investigation leads, Compliance Assurance, Audit and Legal.
Deliver, through collaboration with key internal partners, enhanced quality in SAR MI.
Perform and report on control testing within the SARs Oversight Team
Update and maintain SARs Oversight Team Blueworks records
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Act as point of contact for stakeholders on matters impacting SAR MI.
Actively contribute to a high performing team and inclusive culture within SARs Oversight.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
Contribute to engagement with key partners to resolve complex matters pertaining to SARs MI.
Proactively identify and lead the enhancement of areas within current procedures and controls to ensure Financial Crime compliance with regulatory obligations and expectations.
Risk and Control Objective
Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Experience operating with big data, data analysis and data insights
Experience in designing, delivering and interrogating dashboards (or advanced excel) to deliver risk insights
Previous use of Tableau would be an advantage
Providing strong graphical evidence - comfortable in automating and creating frameworks to produce faster, cleaner and more precise execution of data
Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management.
General knowledge of Barclays products, markets and delivery channels.
Robust understanding of risk management and its value to the organisation.
Deep technical expertise on issues impacting the UK and Global regulatory environment/policies/legal framework as they relate to SARs.
Developed knowledge and understanding of Barclays UK overall strategy.
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications
Holds or working towards Diploma level qualification or equivalent in Financial Crime/AML
