Job Title- CDAO Portfolio Governance Analyst

Location: Glasgow – Barclays Clyde Place (2 Days Onsite)Contract: 6 Months

Overall Purpose of the Role

Barclays is looking for a proactive and organised Governance Analyst to support the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) within the Chief Operating Office, working closely with the Investment Bank on a range of strategic data governance initiatives.

This is a non-technical role focused on governance, coordination, risk and control, and stakeholder engagement — ideal for someone with experience working across structured programmes or portfolios in a Financial Services environment.

You don’t need to come from a formal PMO background, but you will need to be confident managing governance routines, driving accountability, and keeping complex workstreams on track.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the oversight and coordination of the CDAO’s data governance book of work

  • Maintain and monitor key governance activities including risk logs, issue tracking, and status reporting

  • Coordinate regular meetings, forums, and stakeholder sessions, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up

  • Work with data, risk, and control leads to ensure actions and issues are properly managed and escalated

  • Prepare updates and reports that help track progress and surface key risks or blockers

  • Use and maintain governance tooling including JIRA and SharePoint

  • Act as a central point of contact to keep stakeholders aligned, informed, and moving forward

Key Skills & Experience
  • Financial Services experience is essential – familiarity with governance, control, or change environments

  • Experience supporting governance or oversight functions (not necessarily as a formal PMO)

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail – able to manage actions, timelines, and deliverables effectively

  • Confident stakeholder engagement and influencing skills – can work with senior leaders and peers to drive outcomes

  • Proficient in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and JIRA

  • Comfortable working in a well-structured environment, but adaptable and able to take initiative without rigid process

  • Understanding of risk and control frameworks is a strong advantage

  • Experience in investment banking or a data governance context is highly desirable
