About Trade & Working Capital
Trade & working capital provides a range of products and solutions that optimise trading operations for our clients. This includes both documentary trade and open account type solutions.
Overall purpose of role
Responsible for leading and motivating a team of people to exceed client service expectations and support the delivery of strategic change initiatives.
Responsible for performance management of the team through individual performance plans, setting of objectives and regular reviews.
Develop a high performing team culture through regular communication, coaching, team building and performance management.
Maintaining up to date skills matrix to ensure training needs of individuals and the team are met.
Development of teams core skills to enable them to complete all the task of the team and work with and coach team members to identify and work toward achieving future career objectives.
Apply the formal HR processes as appropriate to deal with cases of poor or inappropriate conduct-DC&G, H&S, Sickness.
Apply the principles of Equality and Diversity in Managing people fairly.
Recognise exceptional performance and be a champion of local incentive schemes and reward activities as they apply.
Responsible for making Trade a great place to work, seeking out staff feedback and addressing issues that need improvement.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Deliver effective communication to all stakeholders, customers and team members varying delivery methods and techniques as required.
Own all management communications, editing them to suit the audiences and taking responsibility for answering and resolving any queries raised.
Ensure that all management communications are shared with team members in a timely manner.
Share best practice with fellow team managers ensuring that messages shared are consistent between teams.
Take ownership of all questions and queries raised by team members and seek to resolve them in a timely manner.
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Leadership and People Management Skills
Workflow Analysis and Planning Experience
Full understanding of TradeManager, Tradeflow and Swift.
Excellent knowledge of International Chamber of Commerce publications which support Trade product suite – URC 522, UCP 600, & ISP 98.
Excellent knowledge of Trade product suite –BGIs, Collections, Letters of Credit & Clean Reimbursements.
