Compliance Assurance - VP 

Dive into the heart of Barclays' new Laws, Rules, and Regulations (LRR) Risk Management framework. As the LRR Risk Oversight Assurance AVP, you'll lead assurance reviews, shedding light on our risk management practices and culture. 

Your expertise will be key in ensuring LRR Risk is consistently managed across all Barclays entities and pinpointing areas for improvement.

Key accountabilities:

  • Drive Excellence: Design and deliver reviews that provide strong insight and value by identifying risks and issues. Looking at root causes and embedding robust processes at a fundamental level

  • Support the Head of department by defining and implementing the LRR Risk Oversight Assurance Plan

  • Maintain Standards: Uphold our Compliance Assurance methodology, ensuring every step—from planning to reporting—is executed flawlessly.

  • Deliver Insight: Adopt Data Analytics to use logic and analytical skills in reviews while providing assurance and identifying issues. 

  • Team Motivation: Ensure you and your review team are fully accountable for working papers being completed timely and accurately, with clear and concise findings.

  • Manage Like a Pro: Keep your reviews on track, addressing challenges head-on. Implement better ways of working to demonstrate increased efficiency and productivity.

  • Build Relationships: Build your network to provide cultural leadership through recognising and valuing difference.

  • Stay Ahead: Lead assurance activities that identify risk/control/outcome deficiencies of the utmost relevance, providing valuable insights and informed opinions.

  • Shape the Future: Contribute to our annual review plan, assessing risks and ensuring our business activities align with our reputation and regulatory standards.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in investigation, identifying risks, non-conformities, and root causes with expertise in report writing.

  • Management experience with continuous improvement implementation

  • Delivering reviews and be able to mutli- task across the different business units

  • Sharp analytical mindset with structured and timely work delivery.

  • Experience with Automated Assurance teams, emphasizing data-driven testing and analytics.

  • Background in Financial Crime (Testing, Advisory, Audit, or Legal) is preferred

  • Knowledge of Financial Crime regulations (BSA, AML, OFAC, ABC) would be beneficial

  • Preferably holds a Bachelor's degree.

Hybrid Working

Barclays is currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Barclays is flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. Barclays also has a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances
