Senior PMO Manager


Location: London, Hybrid working

Length: 6 Month Initial Contract

PAYE only 



Overall purpose of the role 


Barclays are looking to appoint a Senior PMO Manager to join the Central PMO team within the financial crime transformation programme. You will be part of the leadership team, working alongside portfolio managers. This role is specifically aligned to the central portfolio team and will involve ensuring governance reporting standards are adhered to.


The ideal Senior PMO Manager will have proven experience working in a large Portfolio environment within a Financial Services institution and experience in the use of Navigator.



Key Accountabilities: 

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the PMO team

  • Develop and implement PMO processes and procedures

  • Ensure adherence to governance reporting standards

  • Manage and track project progress and performance

  • Identify and mitigate risks

  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders

  • Reporting to key stakeholders / groups to keep them informed of key changes and potential impact of the project outcome through published status report

  • Responsible for comprehensive documentation including business requirements, process flow diagrams, colleague journeys etc. using workshops, other elicitation techniques and process review sessions

  • Developing and implementing solutions to meet business needs whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Gather information, analyse options and make data-led proposals to management on a variety of topics

  • Support project manager to manage deliverables with workstream leads and business readiness activity



Key Skills: 

  • Proven PMO experience in the banking/financial services industry

  • Experience of working on transformation programmes in financial crime would be advantageous

  • Stakeholder and communications management - effectively communicate with, influence and manage stakeholders at all levels, taking account of their levels of influence and interest

  • Analysing project data and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations to program managers and stakeholders

  • Previous experience in the use of Navigator

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
