Senior Employee Communications Manager VP

London

PAYE only

Length: 6 months with a possibility for an extension


Employee Communications supports Barclays’ leaders in informing, educating and engaging employees to deliver the strategy of the organisation, and in building the reputation of Barclays as an employer.

Overall purpose of the role 


Build effective and trusted relationships with the Group Chief Information Officer and his leadership team to design communications plans that help them achieve their business objectives, and keep the teams engaged and motivated.


Lead, coach and develop a team of 2 AVPs, to build an efficient execution framework and deliver communications plans to the highest standards. 


Overall purpose of role:

Be the Communications lead for the Barclays UK and her leadership team, and develop a sound understanding of the BUK COO organisation, strategy and priorities, and of the COO agenda. 


Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders across Barclays UK COO, through a proven ability to understand technical and complex business issues, and execute, at pace, multi-channel communication plans and campaigns that generate positive business outcomes. 


Working background/experience:


The role holder will be an experienced communication professional, with track record of delivering high quality employee communications and engagement plans. They will be an effective team leader, with demonstrable experience of building, training and developing high performing teams. They will have a strong commercial focus and the ability to understand complex and technical business issues.

⦁ Experience in leading teams 

⦁ Ability to translate business objectives into integrated, targeted communications plans 

⦁ Excellent writing skills, and able to deliver complex messages in a clear and compelling way

⦁ Strong track record of building effective relationships at a senior level

⦁ Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisation skills

⦁ Ability to work at pace, with tight deadlines and a strong focus on execution 

⦁ Ability to think creatively and solve problems
