Senior Decision Analysts - AVP
Location: Manchester
Length: 6 months - with potential development opportunities

Overall purpose of the role
To create models for analysis and/or visualisation of data, including predictive analysis, business intelligence, pattern recognition, operational efficiency and/or economic forecasting.
We are seeking a talented Data Analyst with a knack for complex problem-solving in a large organization setting. If you are a seasoned professional with experience of dealing with large data sets and have the ability to translate data into informed project decisions, this role is for you.
This role requires the ability to manage stakeholders through complex projects, along with the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.
You will be expected to operate autonomously post initial training on our systems.
The Role
To extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, developing robust decision models, and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders across the departments.
Accountabilities, identification and extraction of relevant data from various internal and external sources.
Performing sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.
Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of existing models.
Development and implementation of data quality control procedures.
Building and validation of quantitative models to support decision-making across different business areas.
Key Accountabilities:
Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will need:
Professional experience in data / decision analytics, preferably within a large organisation.
Experience in handling and analysing large data sets.
Proven ability to present complex data findings to senior executives.
Experience in stakeholder management and working under tight deadlines.
Ability to operate autonomously and thrive in an ambiguous environment.
Quality i.e. getting things to an auditable standard
Ability to do complicated forensic analysis
Toolkit - SQL in a SAS or Python wrapper
