We are looking for a Risk Assessment Manager on a contract basis who will be responsible for conduct risk assessments of High Risk Business Reviews for existing and new to bank high risk customers. There is a high degree of responsibility attached to this role as the role holder will be expected to have in depth knowledge and experience to be able to complete investigations, assess risk to the business and make decisions on onboarding or maintaining customers/clients that considered to be of high regulatory or reputational risk.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess operational and conduct risk and control within the business and pro-actively initiate actions to remedy identified problems
  • Pro-active ownership of risk events, investigations and incidents, to avoid both fraud and operational losses and customer service impacts
  • Act as an SME on risk and control frameworks associated with regulatory or reputational industries, supporting change and development of products, propositions and operational processes
  • Balance conflicting requirements and demands of multiple business areas and influence widely using a full range of communication techniques, to improve performance as a whole
  • Ensure strong, productive relationships are built with peers across the organisation, both within Barclays and the wider network - main stakeholders are the Financial Crime Compliance (AML, PEPs & Sanctions)

 

Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge of corporate governance, including regulated practices, compliance requirements and internal risk management across Barclays
  • Experience of working within a regulatory and control environment
  • Can analyse complex and sometimes ambiguous information to establish risks and issues, identify appropriate mitigating controls and ensure the risk is managed within business appetite
  • Proven experience of influencing senior stakeholders at all level including briefings and presentations
  • Detailed knowledge of the Business Banking customer proposition, and awareness of strategy
