About BUK Change Delivery

The team is responsible for the Execution of change. We are a high performing Centre of Excellence for PMs, BAs and UAT colleagues through the Delivery Practice, Boot Camps and Delivery by Deliverers interventions, providing a career path and platform for project professionals, including industry best qualifications.

Summary of the Role:

  • Delivering and landing change seamlessly in the business
  • Partnering the Accountable Executive to find solutions to exploit opportunities and solve business problems
  • Creating an environment of effective delivery
  • Creating and managing the business case for the programme, from inception through delivery to closure and ensuring that any changes to the detailed business case (DBC) for an initiative are identified, assessed, and then approved or rejected by appropriate governance
  • Ensuring that programmes deliver agreed outcomes and that the outcomes remain relevant; course correcting where required to ensure the programme delivers on its aims; working with delivery partners (e.g. TC leads) to determine and plan work packages
  • Monitoring and managing financials, RAIDs and resource requirements
  • Ensuring Programme Governance delivery in line with Policies and Standards

  • Management of resource for Demand through the Front Door
  • Managing key artefacts and records management
  • Support PMs to manage control throughout delivery
  • Drive best practice in line with Policies and Standards
  • Pre-empt risks and challenge efficiencies across the portfolio
  • Provide complete Portfolio reporting and resource and demand MI


 

Overall purpose of role

Responsible for the overall leadership and delivery of large projects / programmes requiring significant effort in business and technology processes and systems resulting in transformational change. Overall accountability and end-to-end delivery management for a set of related initiatives as defined by our business and portfolio framework

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable for project delivery activities aligning to the business case, scope, schedule and cost constraints inherent within the change environment at the programme / large project level and how they intersect with key enablers required for successful delivery (integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, HR management, communications management, risk management and procurement management).
  • Accountable for programme planning, including the progressive elaboration of scope into detailed work packages underpinning a critical path at the programme and large project level. 
  • The creation, management, and execution of a risk management framework including risk trigger/identification, risk assessment, risk control, and risk mitigation. 
  • The creation and execution of a programme / large project control framework encompassing resource management, financial control management and governance/compliance management.
  • Accountability for the delivery of an end-to-end business and technology solution supported by the supply chain (internal and external) across multiple processes, systems and infrastructure.
  • Leads direct reports (Senior Project Managers) deputising for the Programme Director as required. 
  • Acts as a role model in terms of behaviour and commitment to collaboration across the change delivery organisation. 
  • Lead and champion key activities to enhance the wider team culture such as but not limited to: Citizenship, Knowledge, Process & Tools, Resource Assignment Management, Recruitment & Onboarding, Professional Development, Culture, and Unified PM.


 

Stakeholder Management and Leadership 

  • Build strong working relationships with all key stakeholders across the Bank and with our external partners to create a highly effective operating environment, which can proactively anticipate change needs and flawlessly execute change
  • Accountable for preparing, presenting and managing steering committee materials and decisions and presenting said material up to Director Level audiences
  • Communicate with passion and enthusiasm at all times and embrace change as a way of working
  • Add value to key stakeholders across BUK and facilitate the thinking of the senior business leaders.  Work in partnership with them to drive the best experience for our customers, setting shared objectives


 

Decision-making and Problem Solving 

  • Lead high levels of collaboration across BUK, bringing together subject matter experts from multiple fields and ensure problem statements and solutions are clearly articulated
  • Take balanced risk decisions to maintain progress against plans
  • Absorb and analyse highly complex business issues and translate them into clear direction and activities- challenging the status quo

 

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Project Management/Business Change experience in cross functional teams
  • Successful people leadership at a senior level within a large organisation
  • Confident and strong ability to influence key Stakeholders through presenting and interpreting data
  • Industry expertise in Change Management to add value to business requirements through expert advice and support


 

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desired Project Management Professional accreditation from the Project Management Institute
  • Graduate calibre with significant commercial management experience across a number of business disciplines
  • Confident in understanding business strategy and ensuring projects are delivering to that strategy 
  • Manipulate reports and analyse data to put forward recommendations and suggest new way of working
