Barclays
Product Manager
Role : Product Manager
Location : London
Duration : 6 months
Overall Purpose Of the Role:
As a Product Manager within the Segments and Propositions team, you will be responsible for defining and driving the strategic development of customer propositions across the UK market. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, ensuring that how we treat and engage with our various customer segments aligns perfectly with Barclays’ overarching brand goals. You will manage products through their entire lifecycle—from initial inception through digital delivery—while maintaining a rigorous focus on risk, control, and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Proposition Strategy & Alignment: Lead the strategic development of customer propositions, ensuring all initiatives are commercially viable and strictly aligned with Barclays’ long-term business objectives.
Digital Change Management: Direct the end-to-end product lifecycle, managing the transition from "idea inception" to "digital delivery" with a focus on seamless execution.
Segment Management: Oversee how different UK customer segments are treated, balancing Business As Usual (BAU) requirements with innovative new offerings.
Risk & Control: Proactively manage the risk and control environment for your product area, ensuring all propositions meet regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks.
Performance Tracking: Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of propositions and drive data-led improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement: Navigate a complex matrix environment by managing senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making, and providing clear updates on delivery progress.
Key Skills
High-Velocity Execution: A proven track record of "high execution"—taking ownership of tasks and delivering results in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate high-level business goals into actionable product roadmaps.
Digital Proficiency: Experience in managing digital change and working closely with technology teams to deliver customer-facing features.
Self-Reliance: A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, troubleshoot roadblocks, and drive projects forward without constant supervision.
Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex product concepts to diverse audiences.
Industry Expertise: Strong background in Financial Services is preferred; however, candidates with significant experience in Telecommunications (due to similar subscription/segment-based models) are highly encouraged to apply.

Hybrid Working
Barclays is currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Barclays is flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. Barclays also has a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances
