KYC Financial Crime Advisory - VP


Location: London, Hybrid working

Length: 6 Month Initial Contract

PAYE only 



Overall purpose of the role 


Barclays are looking to appoint a KYC Financial Crime Advisory VP to collaborate with business units and transformation teams to seamlessly embed KYC practices into their operations, mitigating financial crime risks. The successful KYC Financial Crime Advisory VP will be able to assess issues within KYC and rectify them in a thematic, firm wide lens and be experienced in upwards reporting.



Key Accountabilities: 

  • Collaborate with business units and transformation teams to effectively embed KYC processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and implement a risk-based approach for identifying and managing complex transactions, focusing on high-risk areas.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with first and second lines of defence, ensuring a balanced and objective approach to risk management while influencing stakeholders using data insights.

  • Engage with and challenge business stakeholders, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure they reach sound and compliant conclusions.

  • Provide oversight for complex KYC cases, ensuring thorough investigation and appropriate resolution.

  • Serve as a point of escalation for challenging situations, providing expert guidance and support.

  • Manage breaches through established frameworks, ensuring timely and effective remediation.



Key Skills: 

  • Understanding of KYC in Investment Banking and Corporate Banking

  • Previous experience in 2nd Line Advisory within Financial Crime

  • Be able to take a risk based approach for various types of complex transactions

  • Experience in implementing new regulations (supporting implementations)

  • Experience in identifying recurring issues which have led to thematic changes in programmes

  • Working through breach frameworks

  • Experience in partnering with businesses during change/transformation
