Overall purpose of the role
The Governance Change Coordinator will play a key role in a regulatory change project within the OPAM (Oak Pension Asset Management Limited) team at Barclays responsible for Barclays UK Pension allocations. This will involve significant changes in the investment management fund for Barclays Pensions - understanding current governance/process and identifying amendments.
The role will be responsible to coordinate and manage the changes required to existing governance arrangements to ensure they meet regulatory requirements, or are appropriate for the OPAM business going forward once the project completes. The role will require strong communication with compliance and legal teams. Previous experience in a similar role in investment governance would be ideal.
Key Accountabilities:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing governance framework and decision-making forums.
Evaluate the impact of the change project on the OPAM business. Propose future governance requirements and options to the OPAM’s operating committee and OPAM Board.
Collaborate with Compliance and Legal on changes to ensure regulatory requirements for post-project OPAM’s governance framework are planned and implemented.
Project manage and maintain project plans for the delivery of governance changes. Examples include coordinating review of committee structure and terms of reference.
Coordinate the review and updating of the risk framework for post implementation.
Track, maintain and deliver a project plan of tasks relating to required governance changes.
Key Skills:
Previous experience in working with risk frameworks
Experience working with entities with governance references in place
Assessing current structure and proposing an appropriate process for future business changes
Previous Asset Management experience would be beneficial for awareness of processes involved
Multi-asset class management would be ideal
Strong Stakeholder management skills with varying levels of seniority
Experience working with teams of various expertise to bring about change
A paralegal/corporate secretarial or governance background would be advantageous
Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
