About Fraud

Fraud is dishonest behaviour with the intent to make a gain, or cause a loss to others, through false representations, abusing positions of trust or failing to disclose information.  The wider Fraud department is divided into distinctly different teams that deal with fraud that can occur at different stages of the customer life-cycle; fraud at application stage (Lending Fraud), and transactional fraud that takes place on existing accounts.

Overall purpose of role

The main focus of the role will be to support the ongoing work in relation to the Bounce Back Loan scheme (BBLs), with specific focus on:

Data Management – analysis and packaging of data
Building PowerPoint decks to articulate trends and identify risks
Managing case reviews and escalations

Key Accountabilities

Provide analytical support in respect of the BBL scheme
Provide subject matter expertise to the Business, and Fraud Risk Management Senior Leadership.
Manage the relationship with key stakeholders to ensure risks are mitigated.
External contacts at other financial institutions
External contacts with industry bodies and Fraud Prevention Agencies.

Risk and Control Objective 

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the development and execution of loss prevention strategies, with knowledge of the tools and techniques available to identify and prevent fraud and scams.

Strong analytical and data mining skills, with the ability to absorb large quantities of data at speed.

Extensive work experience within fraud risk, general fraud disciplines and compliance environment, with knowledge of 1st/2nd/3rd line of defence structure and Corporate governance.
General project & change management disciplines, incorporating commercial awareness, with knowledge of the market and trends, and consumer.
