Executive Assistant

Overall Purpose of the Role:We are seeking a highly professional and experienced Personal Assistant (PA) to support the Chief Compliance Officer for Barclays UK (BUK). This is a high-profile opportunity at the heart of a major financial institution, providing critical executive support to a key member of the Barclays leadership team. The role goes beyond traditional diary management – it requires sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced, board-facing environment.
Key Accountabilities:Complex diary management for a senior executive, including scheduling and prioritising high-level meetings
Coordinating international and domestic travel, including detailed itineraries and logistics
Liaising with internal and external Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) and senior stakeholders
Managing the flow of board papers, agendas, and meeting materials
Making informed decisions on calendar conflicts based on business priority
Ensuring smooth daily operations, adhering to proper meeting protocols (especially for 1:1s and leadership reviews)
Occasional out-of-hours support depending on business demands
Proven experience supporting C-suite or senior executives as a PA or EA
Strong background in a corporate or financial services environment
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels
Discretion, reliability, and resilience – essential for managing sensitive matters
Ambitious, proactive, and driven – someone who takes ownership of their work
Experience working in a business management or Chief of Staff-style team is desirable
Ability to commit to the demands of a senior support role, including hybrid working at 1CP (Wednesday–Friday required on-site)
