Overall purpose of role
The job holder will be responsible for ensuring:
Compliance with policies, procedures and regulations for the UK Correspondent Banking and Corporate Banking line of business in relation to AML surveillance
The Bank meets its statutory obligations for reporting suspicious activity both in the UK and in Germany
Referrals are made on potential suspicious activity to German MLRO for a potential dual (UK and German) filing
Compliance with the Barclays stated values: Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship
This will involve investigation of suspicious activity from alerts generated by surveillance systems and manual cases from internal and external referrals with SAR reporting as appropriate. This includes ownership of the investigation from assignment to closure and follow-up after closure as needed.

Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Key Accountabilities
Conduct analysis and assessment of TM system generated alerts and cases using internal systems and external research tools.
Accurately document supporting evidence for alert/case closure or SAR filing as appropriate within procedural timelines.
Ability to identify and carry out appropriate levels of research/investigation.
Communicate across Barclays jurisdictions to gather additional data as required.
Escalate tardy/non-responses for Directives for Information.
(DFIs)/Requests for Information (RFIs) to Corporate Banking and Team Leader.
Conduct special investigations, including but not limited to business referrals, adverse media, and fraud.
Participate and assist in delivery of the Correspondent Banking Vision, with focus on continuous improvement and conducting complex, intelligence-led investigations.
Basic Qualifications/Skills
Demonstrable research and and/or investigations experience in a Financial Crime discipline.
Insight in to money laundering red flags and typologies
Strong AML Compliance and Bank Secrecy Act experience
Strong understanding of KYC Principles
Experienced with open source search techniques
Proven ability to influence and manage stakeholders across multiple teams and regions
Use of case management to accurately record and progress alerts, and a track record of meeting processing targets
Ability to analyse large structured and unstructured datasets
A self-motivated team player, with the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload to maximise efficiency.
