Communication and Engagement Lead
Job Title: Communications & Engagement Lead
Location- London or Glasgow/ Hybrid (Twice a week in the office)
Contract Length- 6 Months
Overall purpose of role
The purpose of this role is to support the launch and embedding of change being delivered by projects and programmes into the HR function and/or by HR led projects into the wider business.
This role is responsible for the communications and engagement workstream activity. Including working with programme leads, workstream leads and subject matter experts to build and execute a communications and engagement plan that will ensure colleagues are engaged at appropriates times throughout the change journey.
Key Accountabilities
Work alongside Project Managers and Change managers to develop communication and engagement approach and plans for required projects.
Advise on most appropriate channels and methods to communicate / engage.
Develop required written engagement materials, including email communications, briefing packs, presentations, articles, FAQs, etc.
Coordinate with suppliers for rich media – videos, posters, animations, demos etc.
Plan and organise events – roadshows, events etc.
Execute / deliver engagement related activity for projects where required.
Coordinate with Corporate Communications team for boarder HR and employee comms.
Manage all engagement queries arising from supported projects and actioning in a timely manner.
Capture feedback and lessons learned on delivered engagement activities to continue to improve activities in the future.
Generate deliverables independently and autonomously.
Able to think through and generate thoughtful change, bringing the best tools and methods to the table to support design conversations.
Have confidence in when to escalate, able to manage risks and issues carefully.
Provide structure and transparency on progress of the engagement activity.
Responsible for internal project communications
Develop and manage communication and engagement project plans and manage actions, risks and issues relating to comms and activity.
Person Specification
Experience working on a technology-enabled transformation programme in a global context.
Effectively manage a global remote working team and promote collaborative working.
Ability to boil down programme content and spotlight on the need-to-know information for the audience.
Create engaging and succinct content via various communication channels including MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Outlook etc.
Very strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
Ability to use PowerPoint to develop effective communication and engagement collateral.
Experience in working with various media formats (e.g., videos, animations, infographics, demos etc).
Proven ability to effectively influence, communicate and manage stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
Has extensive experience of understanding business requirements, change impacts and delivering impactful change communications.
Ability to engage with change recipients, understand their needs, create and/or execute plans for successful landing of the change.
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
Degree-level qualification in any communications (including public relations), literature, marketing, or journalism discipline.
Experience working in financial services and/or a HR function.
Experience working in an agile environment.
