Overall purpose of the role:

Lead and execute large-scale sanctions change and transformation projects. This VP role is central to delivering the sanctions components of the multi-year Integrated Financial Crime (IFC) Programme. Leverage expertise in Change Management and Sanctions to build robust solutions, oversee complex workstreams, and ensure high-quality execution.


Key Accountabilities:

Transformation and Programme Delivery

  • Own Transformation: Take end-to-end ownership of the sanctions-focused transformation agenda in collaboration with the Director.

  • Programme Management: Oversee the delivery of $\sim 5$ major Sanctions/IFC workstreams in 2026.

  • IFC Programme: Act as the key delivery manager for sanctions within the 18-month IFC Programme, ensuring integration by Jan/Feb 2026.

  • Workstream Oversight: Manage diverse change workstreams including Case Management, Sanctions Technology upgrades, and Organisational Design.

  • Solution Building: Analyse complex problems and build practical, sustainable change solutions for the Sanctions control environment.


Expertise and Execution

  • Sanctions Domain Expertise: Provide hands-on Sanctions Domain expertise to support team execution and problem-solving.

  • Change Management SME: Apply deep Change Management SME to govern, plan, and execute large-scale projects.

  • Scale and Scope: Deliver demonstrable experience in executing changes of significant scale (e.g., multi-year system implementations, large-scale organisational re-design, integration post-acquisition).

  • Technology Exposure: Leverage knowledge of Sanctions Technology platforms (e.g., familiarity with Fircosoft is advantageous).


Stakeholder Management and Autonomy

  • Autonomy: Manage self and workstreams autonomously, demonstrating the necessary gravitas to lead decision-making.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively manage and influence stakeholders across Compliance, Technology, and the Business to secure alignment and drive adoption.


Key Skills: 

  • Proven Change Management SME: Extensive background driving large-scale, complex transformation programmes in a regulated environment.

  • Sanctions Transformation Experience: Direct experience delivering major change initiatives specifically within the Sanctions domain.

  • Scale of Change: Direct exposure to managing multi-year change impacting multiple units/regions within a Tier-1/large Financial Institution.

  • Gravitas and Autonomy: Ability to operate independently at the VP level and engage senior stakeholders with high credibility.


Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Direct experience with Sanctions technology implementation/upgrade projects (e.g., Fircosoft, OFAC regimes).

  • Experience with broader Financial Crime technology.

  • Professional certifications (ACAMS/ICA) are a nice-to-have, but practical execution experience is key.
