AVP Fixed Income Middle Office - Trade Support
Location: London - Hybrid, 2 days a week in the office
Length: 6 months

Overall purpose of the role
To provide strong Trading support coverage to Front office partners/Clients and Back office teams
To be primary point of contact for the European Macro Cash and Derivative business
Motivate and supervise team members
Contribute and run small projects that increase out STP and control framework
To ensure all aspects of deals are correctly booked throughout their life cycle
Managing and resolving queries from various areas such as Trading/Finance/Settlements etc
The Macro IBMO Cash and Derivative team is an integral part of the Trading Flow and Front to back knowledge is a key desirable skill
The role will entail second check of trade capture input, investigation and resolution of high risk breaks. Review reconciliations, investigate and resolve breaks.

Work throughout the day to ensure trades queues are cleared and checked out by end of day across Fixed Income products
Key Accountabilities:

To ensure all aspects of deals are correctly booked throughout their life cycle
Managing and resolving queries from various areas such as Trading/Finance/Settlements etc
The role will entail second check of trade capture input, investigation and resolution of high risk breaks. Review reconciliations, investigate and resolve breaks
First line of contact for clients, brokers and internal teams for all discrepancies and issues
Calculating and processing corporate actions on bond positions and updating risk/P&L accordingly
Reconciling trades and positions between systems, with brokers and with exchanges
Ensure all aspects of the role are covered and to the highest standard
Decision-making and Problem Solving
Monitoring failing trades: stepping in where necessary to arrange buy-ins and prioritise settlement with clients; liaising with repo traders to cover short positions by borrowing bonds
Trade validation of bookings and amendments ensuring accuracy at all times
Maintain and ensure the integrity of systems, metrics and reports used by traders to make investment decisions
Risk and Control Objective
Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do
Person Specification
Understanding of Fixed Income products
Prior experience dealing with settlements
Previous Middle Office/Trade Support experience
Knowledge of electronic platforms for trading and confirmations including Bloomberg, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, Omgeo CTM, FIX, Trade web and markit wire
Thorough understanding of Credit & Rates and the life cycle of the trade including: coupons, accrual periods, lifecycle events, clearing
Diligent and able to work in a fast paced high pressure environment with tight deadlines
Ability to coordinate with various teams in order to action exceptions and ad hoc inquiries
Must be detail oriented and be able to multitask
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Financial Services experience
Operations experience related to Middle Office role
Experience with Microsoft Office
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of electronic platforms for trading and confirmations including Bloomberg, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, Omgeo CTM, FIX, Trade web and markit wire
Financial service with good record
Experience in Bloomberg
