Barclays
Business Analyst
Role : Business Analyst
Location : Northampton
Duration : 6 months PAYE only
Overview of the Role
We are seeking a proactive, highly driven Business Analyst to join our team on a major digital transformation program operating in a fast-paced Agile environment. In this role, you will bridge old and new ways of working, driving the transition toward continuous lifecycle delivery, rapid iterations, and constant feature enhancements.
You will join a well-established, collaborative team of BAs. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running with zero hand-holding—we need an individual who understands the complexities of transaction banking, takes full ownership of outcomes, and focuses on delivering high-impact results from day one.
Key SkillsDomain Expertise: Strong domain knowledge in Transaction Banking, GTB (Global Transaction Banking), and Corporate Payments. Experience with transaction-related initiatives, tokenisation, digital wallets, and cryptocurrency is highly desirable.
Agile & Delivery Mastery: Proven expertise in Agile methodologies, writing clear, actionable User Stories, and managing backlogs within Jira.
Dual-Focus Delivery: Demonstrated ability to balance both compliance mapping requirements and pure product feature development.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a track record of seamlessly collaborating with Product Owners, Testers, Developers, and senior business leaders.
Proactive Ownership: Self-starter mindset—able to navigate complex environments, take complete initiative, and drive projects to completion without needing upfront training.
Key Responsibilities
Translate complex business requirements into clear, concise User Stories and acceptance criteria within Jira for immediate engineering execution.
Map and document the transition from legacy systems and "old ways of working" into modern, Agile digital workflows.
Lead end-to-end business analysis for GTB, Corporate Payments, and transaction banking projects (including tokenisation and digital wallet solutions).
Drive both regulatory/compliance mapping and innovative product feature development side-by-side.
Work embedded alongside Product Owners to prioritize features, manage iterations, and refine the product backlog.
Collaborate closely with QA and testing teams to ensure deliverables align with business outcomes and meet high quality standards.
Manage key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on program scope, milestones, and deliverables.
About Barclays
Barclays is a British universal bank. It is diversified by business, by different types of customers and clients, and by geography. Barclays businesses include consumer banking and payments operations around the world, as well as a top-tier, full service, global corporate and investment bank, all of which are supported by its service company which provides technology, operations and functional services across the Group.
Values
Everything Barclays does is shaped by its five values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship. The Barclays values inform the foundations of its relationships with customers and clients, but they also shape how Barclays measures and rewards the performance of colleagues. Simply put, success is not just about what you achieve, but about how you achieve it.
Diversity
Barclays aims to foster a culture where individuals of all backgrounds feel confident in bringing their whole selves to work, feel included and their talents are nurtured, empowering them to contribute fully to Barclays vision and goals.
Hybrid Working
Barclays is currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Barclays is flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. Barclays also has a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances
